VISITING THE CENTRE
The Centre is currently open to the public by appointment only. The Gallery remains closed for renovations. Updated operating hours will be posted here and on our social media channels.
Thank you for your patience as we are undergoing some transitions. Please contact us with your questions or to make an appointment to connect in person.
For Indigenous faculty, staff, students, and community members, and for visitors who have an ongoing connection with the Centre: You are more than welcome to come by and ring our doorbell during our open hours. There may not always be staff onsite, but we are still available to support you. If you can’t reach us at the front door, please email us at irshdc.info@ubc.ca or phone reception at (604) 822-6941 so we can follow up with you.
GETTING HERE
Walking: The Centre is located between two landmark buildings, the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, a large glass-fronted building on East Boulevard, and Koerner Library on Main Mall. The entrance to the Centre is just opposite the west side of the Barber Centre. When walking from the Barber Centre towards Koerner Library, facing the clock tower, the Centre is to the left. Please note the main entrance faces the Barber Centre.
Driving: Drive to campus via 10th, 16th or 4th Avenue, or from SW Marine Dr. Rose Garden Parkade (marked on the map above) is the closest parkade with an elevator. The North Parkade, across from the Barber Centre, is an alternate parkade. The surface lot near the School of Music has accessible parking as well.
Transit: Public Transit is the most popular way to get to and from campus. 15 bus routes link UBC to Metro Vancouver, along with two on-campus routes to serve the on-campus community. Plan your trip or look at a map of transit routes.
Accessibility: UBC Accessibility offers free rides to and from the Rose Garden Parkade and the North Parkade to the Centre along a pre-determined route. Call to schedule a ride (604) 822-9929. Visit their website for current shuttle stops and hours.
