Dr. Tricia Logan on the discovery of a mass gravesite at a former residential school in Kamloops

Dr. Tricia Logan, the head of research and engagement at the Centre, and assistant professor at UBC iSchool, recently spoke to 570 News about the discovery in Kamloops.

“Asking community members and Survivors to speak, over and over again, can be a lot…I’ve heard hundreds of Survivors’ stories, and as a historian who works with the community, it is a lot of my job – to carry those stories with me,” says Dr. Logan. “Survivors have put out calls for more action…There is a collective call to carry on the work that the community has started, and acknowledge, and support other places where perhaps the work has not started yet.”
