The Independent Assessment Process (IAP) and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is for compensation claims of abuse at Residential Schools. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) was an earlier iteration of this process.
You may have heard that IAP and ADR records will be destroyed on September 19, 2027. However, you can still decide not to have your records destroyed – there are several options you can choose from.
You can preserve copies of your records for yourself, or preserve them for history and research at the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. There is more information available on how to treat your IAP/ADR records on the NCTR website.
