Extension deadline January 4, 2024
The period to file a claim for the Day Scholars settlement which began on January 4, 2022 is now closed, but there is an extension period until January 4, 2024.
Claimants may request a Claims Deadline extension by submitting both the Deadline Extension Form and Claim form together by email, fax, or mail by January 4, 2024 at 11:59pm PST.
The digital claim portal is now closed. Claimants can submit their claim by email, fax, or mail.

Deadline October 4, 2023
To be eligible for compensation, a Day Scholar (or heir in some cases) must have attended an Indian Residential School during the day only but did not sleep overnight at one of Indian Residential Schools in Schedule E.
To submit a claim, claimants may submit their claim form on-line or via email, fax, or mail:

Survivor and Descendant Class Members (the natural or adopted children of Survivor Class Members) are also eligible to apply for funding from the Day Scholars Revitalization Fund to support healing, wellness, education, language, culture, and commemoration.
